A souvenir photo at the Kravice Waterfalls.

MomentoSnap is installed at the entrance viewpoint of Kravice Waterfalls - the 25-metre-high horseshoe cascade on the Trebižat river near Ljubuški, Herzegovina. Step in front of the booth and the full arc of the falls, the emerald pool, and the limestone cliffs sit framed behind you. Touch the screen, pose, pay, and walk away with a printed keepsake plus a free high-resolution digital copy on your phone - all in about fifteen seconds, no operator, no queue, no app to install.

Address
Vodopad Kravica entrance viewpoint, Studenci, 88260 Ljubuški, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Open
The falls are open daily from around 08:00 until dusk in summer, with shorter hours and possible closures in winter. The booth itself runs 24/7 once you reach the viewpoint - summer (June to September) is when the site is fully staffed and all facilities are open.

How to find it

From Mostar: take the M6 road south-west towards Ljubuški. At the village of Studenci, follow the signs for Vodopad Kravica. The falls are about 37 km from Mostar - count on 40 to 45 minutes by car. There is a paid car park at the top; from there a path with steps leads down to the pool and the base of the falls.

From Međugorje: the distance is even shorter - roughly 12 km south-west on local roads through Ljubuški. Most visitors combine Međugorje with Kravice in a single morning, reaching the falls before the tour buses arrive.

From Dubrovnik: cross into Bosnia at the Neum border crossing and continue towards Čapljina, then take the road north to Ljubuški. The drive is roughly 90 minutes. An organised day trip is the easiest option if you are not driving yourself.

The booth is positioned at the main viewpoint at the top of the path, just inside the entrance gate. You will see it before you start the descent to the pool.

Best time to come

Early morning in summer. The gates open at 8am and the first hour is calm - soft light on the spray, mist rising from the emerald pool, and hardly anyone in the frame. The other golden window is from about 5pm onwards when the tour buses have left and the low afternoon sun hits the full horseshoe at the perfect angle. Midday in July and August is the most crowded and the flat overhead light does the falls no favours. Spring (April and May) is also excellent - the water volume is higher after snowmelt, the site is less crowded, and the surrounding vegetation is vivid green.

While you're in the area

Kravice pairs naturally with several other Herzegovina highlights within easy driving distance. Give yourself a full day and combine two or three stops.

  • Ljubuški old town and fortress

    ~10 min drive

A quiet market town with a medieval fortress above the Trebižat river valley. The local restaurants serve good grilled meat and cold Herzegovinian wine.

  • Počitelj fortified village

    ~25 min drive north

A UNESCO-listed Ottoman village on a limestone cliff above the Neretva. The tower, the mosque, and the stone houses are all intact - one of the most photogenic stops in the region.

  • Međugorje

    ~15 min drive

One of the most visited Catholic pilgrimage sites in Europe. Even if the religious draw is not your thing, the hilltop walk and the view over the Herzegovinian plain are worth the visit.

  • Mostar - Stari Most

    ~40 min drive

The old bridge over the Neretva and the Ottoman bazaar district of Kujundžiluk. The city is the natural anchor for a full day trip that includes Kravice.

About Kravice Waterfalls

The Kravice Waterfalls - called Vodopad Kravica in Bosnian - formed over thousands of years through the slow accumulation of tufa, a porous limestone deposited by mineral-rich spring water as it flows over vegetation and rock. The Trebižat river, a tributary of the Neretva, drops roughly 25 metres over a wide horseshoe-shaped ledge of tufa, creating the pool below. Tufa formations of this kind are fragile and grow only a few centimetres per year, which is why the site has protected-area status. In summer, small wooden rowing boats operate on the pool, offering a view looking back up at the full arc of the falls from the water. The site became widely known to international visitors in the early 2000s and is now one of the most visited natural attractions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, drawing visitors from Mostar, Dubrovnik, Split, and across the region.

Frequently asked

Where exactly is the MomentoSnap booth at Kravice?

At the main entrance viewpoint, right at the top of the path that leads down to the pool - just inside the entrance gate, before you descend to the base of the falls. You will see it as you arrive.

Do I need to pay separately for the photo booth?

Yes. The park entrance fee gets you in; the booth is paid separately on the spot by coin or contactless card. One photo includes both a printed 4x6 copy and a free digital download via QR code.

Can I take a group photo with the falls in the background?

Absolutely. The booth is positioned at the viewpoint so the full horseshoe of the falls is visible in the background. A group of up to about six people fits comfortably in the frame.

Is the booth open in winter?

The booth itself runs 24/7, but the Kravice site has limited access in winter and the falls area may be partially closed. Summer (June to September) is when everything is fully open. If you are visiting outside summer, check local conditions before making the trip.

Is the print included in the price, or just digital?

Both are included. Every photo gives you a printed 4x6 keepsake on glossy water-resistant paper, plus a free high-resolution digital copy via a unique QR code on the print.

How far is Kravice from Mostar?

About 37 km by road - roughly 40 to 45 minutes by car via the M6 towards Ljubuški. It is one of the most popular half-day trips from Mostar and also combines well with a stop in Međugorje.
