A souvenir photo on the Kvarner coast.
MomentoSnap is installed on the seafront promenade at Novi Vinodolski - a small Adriatic town on the Kvarner coast, about an hour south of Rijeka. This is a Frankopan stronghold since the 1200s, the place where Croatia's first vernacular legal code was written in 1288, and one of the quieter alternatives to the bigger Kvarner resorts. Stand in front of the booth and the Adriatic stretches behind you, with the hill and castle visible above the harbour. Touch the screen, pose, pay, and walk away with a printed keepsake plus a free high-resolution digital copy on your phone - about fifteen seconds total, no operator, no queue, no app to install.
- Address
- Seafront promenade (Šetalište), near Lišanj beach, Novi Vinodolski 51250, Croatia
- Open
- The booth is available every day. The promenade is accessible around the clock, and the booth itself runs 24/7 - early risers and evening strollers included.
How to find it
From Rijeka, take the Jadranska magistrala (coastal road, D8) south. Novi Vinodolski is signposted off the Adriatic Highway at the Novi Vinodolski exit - the drive from Rijeka takes about 45 minutes. From Zagreb, the A6/A7 motorway brings you to Rijeka first, then south on the D8; total journey about two hours.
The seafront promenade is the flat strip running along the water below the old town. Follow the signs for the harbour (luka) and then walk south along the waterfront towards the Lišanj beach area. The MomentoSnap booth is on the promenade - you'll find it before you reach the main beach.
There is a bus service from Rijeka bus station to Novi Vinodolski that runs several times a day. The bus stops in the centre of town; from there it is a short walk downhill to the promenade.
Best time to come
The promenade comes alive in the early evening when the light drops and the Adriatic turns a deep blue-green. The Frankopan castle on the hill catches the last sun and makes a strong backdrop. Morning is quieter - the sea is glassy and the old town above is still waking up. Midday works too; the booth is weatherproof and handles the full Kvarner summer sun without any trouble.

About Novi Vinodolski
Novi Vinodolski sits at the northern edge of the Vinodol valley where it meets the Adriatic. The Frankopan lords built their stronghold here in the 13th century and it was under their rule that, in 1288, twelve representatives from nine communities gathered to write down the Vinodol Code - Vinodolski zakonik - a set of customary laws in vernacular Croatian, now considered one of the oldest written legal documents in any Slavic language. A copy is held in the Vatican library. The town itself has the compact, lived-in quality of a Croatian coastal settlement that was never fully absorbed into the package-holiday circuit: the old stone core sits above a working harbour, the promenade below it is wide and unhurried, and the Adriatic here is as clear as anywhere on the coast.
Frequently asked
Where exactly is the MomentoSnap booth in Novi Vinodolski?
On the seafront promenade (Šetalište) near the Lišanj beach approach, below the old town and the Frankopan castle. You can reach it on foot from anywhere in the town centre in about ten minutes.
Do I need to pay separately for the photo booth?
Yes - the booth is self-service and paid on the spot by coin or contactless card. One photo gives you both a printed 4×6 copy and a free digital download via QR code. No separate booking or ticket is needed.
Can I take a group photo?
Yes. The framing is set up so a group of up to about six people fits comfortably with the Adriatic or the castle visible behind them. A bit of space between people in the group helps the camera pick everyone up.
What is the Vinodol Code and why does the town mention it everywhere?
The Vinodol Code (Vinodolski zakonik) was written in 1288 - a set of customary laws written in vernacular Croatian, making it one of the earliest surviving written legal documents in any Slavic language. It was drawn up right here in Novi, under Frankopan rule, and the town is rightly proud of it. The small museum in the castle has more detail.
Is the print included in the price, or just the digital copy?
Both are included. Every photo gives you a printed 4×6 keepsake on glossy water-resistant paper, plus a free high-resolution digital copy via a unique QR code on the print.
How do I get to Novi Vinodolski from Rijeka?
By car, take the D8 coastal road south from Rijeka - about 45 minutes. By bus, there are several departures a day from Rijeka bus station directly to Novi Vinodolski. The town is also on the route of the coastal bus line heading further south towards Split.
